Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to the Repetitool Android app.
Repetitool is developed by MIKHALCHAN Anastasiia ("we", "us", or "our"). This page explains, in plain language, how Repetitool handles information when you use the app.
In short: most of your learning content stays on your device. Some information is processed through Google services when you choose features such as Google sign-in, Google Drive backup, cloud text tools, cloud text-to-speech, or ads.
1. Information stored on your device
Repetitool may store on your device:
- words, phrases, notes, examples, imported text, and other learning content you add;
- repetition history, schedules, reminders, and learning statistics;
- app settings, such as language and feature preferences;
- temporary cached audio or temporary working files created while you use certain features.
2. When information may be processed online
Repetitool uses Google services to provide some optional features.
Google sign-in
If you sign in with your Google account, the app may use your email address and basic account details to create and maintain your Repetitool account and to connect account-based features.
Google Drive backup and restore
If you choose backup or restore with Google Drive, the app uploads your backup file to your Google Drive account or downloads it from there.
Backup files created by the app are encrypted before upload. To make restore possible, the app also stores the information needed to restore that encrypted backup in Google services used by Repetitool.
Cloud text and speech features
If you choose cloud-based features such as text splitting during import, contextual dictionary generation, or cloud text-to-speech, the text you select for processing is sent to Google services so the requested feature can work.
Ads and privacy choices
Repetitool contains ads. Google may process device and advertising-related information to provide and manage ads, subject to Google's own privacy practices.
Where required, the app shows Google's consent options. When available, you can also review or change ad privacy options from the app settings.
Stability and limited usage information
To keep the app working well, improve stability, and support account-based features, Repetitool may store limited usage and support information in Google services used by the app. This may include basic sign-in events, backup-related events, feature-use counters, timestamps, and error reports when a serious problem occurs.
Android device backup
Depending on your Android settings, the Android system may also include some app data in your device backup as part of Google's standard Android backup and restore features.
3. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not share your personal data with unrelated third parties for their own marketing.
- We do not use your learning content for purposes unrelated to the features you choose to use.
4. Permissions
Repetitool may ask for permissions such as:
- internet and network access, to use online features and load ads;
- notifications, to show reminders and progress or status messages;
- alarm and restart-related permissions, to keep scheduled reminders and repetitions working after device restart;
- Google account access, only when you choose Google-account-based features such as Google Drive backup or restore;
- file access or a file picker, only when you choose to import, export, or use local backups on supported Android versions.
When the app asks for Google account access for Google Drive features, it is not meant to read your personal contacts list for unrelated purposes.
You can see the list of all permissions through the main menu of the device:

5. Data retention and deletion
- Content stored only on your device stays there until you edit, delete, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
- Google Drive backups remain in your Google Drive until you delete them or remove them through app features that manage backups.
- Account-linked cloud data is kept while needed to provide the related feature.
- If you delete your account from within the app, the app removes or disconnects the account information used for Repetitool features and deletes the information needed to restore encrypted backups linked to that account. Some de-identified historical or support records may still be kept where reasonably necessary for service operation, security, or record-keeping.
6. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information handled by the app. Data sent through online services is transmitted over encrypted connections. Google Drive backup files created by the app are encrypted before upload.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version should always be the one linked from the app listing and, where available, from within the app.
